The Gisborne Presbyterian Church has had a rich and proud history in the Gisborne District since it began in 1850, even before Gisborne was called Gisborne.

The purpose and aim of the Presbyterian Church has always been to honour God and his word in the Bible and to be used by Him to help bring in His Kingdom.

She faithfully by God’s grace seeks to uphold the truth of the bible as God’s Word as confirmed in the Westminster Confession of Faith.

Gisborne congregation has a strong tradition and heritage which extends back to the time of the Reformation in Scotland.

Certainly the Gisborne congregation has had its ahre of challenges and there have been times when we wondered whether God would be gracious enough to let us continue, we confess there have been times in which we have not deserved it but we strive to continue in His work, believing and praying that it is God’s will to continue to use us for his Kingdom and glory.

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly.”
Col. 3:16
